Assist. Prof. Dr. Refet Erand ERATAM

Born in Nicosia in 1997, he completed his primary education at Gemikonağı Erdal Abit Primary School, and his secondary education at Lefke Gazi High School and Güzelyurt Türk Maarif College. He enrolled in the Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and graduated in 2020. In the same year, he began his doctoral studies in the Department of Veterinary Surgery at the Ankara University Graduate School of Health Sciences.

During his doctoral studies, he served as a veterinary surgeon at the Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Animal Hospital Surgery Clinic. In this period, he conducted clinical studies with a focus on small animal traumatology, orthopedics, soft tissue surgery, and anesthesiology. He earned his Ph.D. in December 2025 after successfully defending his doctoral thesis titled “Defining the Criteria for Surgical Treatment Selection in Medial Patellar Luxation Cases of Small Breed Dogs”.

As of February 2026, he continues his academic career as an Assistant Professor at the Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to his clinical practice, he pursues innovative research on the analysis of radiographic data using artificial intelligence and deep learning, as well as the design of surgical instruments and implants for veterinary surgery.
